We allow 15 minutes for each consultation so there is ample time for questions and discussions. Our consult rooms are spacious with a ‘homely’ feel so that you and your pet feel relaxed. As we are a small team, you should usually see the same vet or nurse at each visit.
Routine vaccinations are an important part of pet ownership. We aim to make vaccine visits a really positive experience for your pet, with lots of fuss and treats. Your pet won’t even notice that they are having a nose to tail examination, weight check and vaccination at the same time!
Nurses are fabulous! Our lovely nurses can help with all elements of health care including nail clipping, injections, weight management, diabetic clinics and so on. We will often be able to offer nurse appointments on the day.
Our surgical unit includes a preparation room and operating theatre with modern monitoring and anaesthetic equipment. We perform routine and complex surgical procedures on site.
We have a brand-new ultrasound machine which provides fantastic images of the chest and abdomen. We use ultrasound to detect all sorts of problems as a non-invasive form of investigation.
Our state of the art X-ray unit allows us to take precise images for a fast diagnosis. The images will be shown and discussed with you during a consultation following the procedure.
We are thrilled to be able to offer same-day blood test results from our in- house laboratory. This allows us to thoroughly and quickly formulate a treatment plan for your pet. We are also able to send tests to an external laboratory for further analysis if required.
Looking after our animal’s teeth is so important and often overlooked. At Green Door Vets, we have a dental suite including dental X-ray, so that we can see the tooth root as well as the crown. This helps us to decide if extractions are needed. We offer routine scale and polish treatments to keep teeth clean and fresh.
Some if you may know our vet Amy from Hound Advice, a business she ran for several years to provide animal health certificates (AHC) for pet travel to Europe. Amy will continue to run this service at Green Door Vets. To travel with your pet into Europe you will need an AHC. Visit www.houndadvice.co.uk for more information.
